Special Needs Medical Centre
The Special Needs Medical Centre is a specialised healthcare facility integrated within the existing Tzu Chi Community Centre, originally designed by Neylan Architecture. The development has been purpose-designed to accommodate a range of medical services, with a particular emphasis on the provision of dental and occupational therapies for medically vulnerable members of the community.
The facility incorporates a comprehensive suite of clinical and support spaces, including:
Four fully equipped dental surgeries
Dedicated consulting rooms for clinical assessment and patient management
Therapy rooms designed to support occupational and rehabilitative services
Designated treatment areas for specialised care
A fully compliant CBCT (x-ray) room
Centralised laboratory and sterilisation facilities meeting infection control requirements
The architectural and interior design intent prioritises patient-centred care, balancing regulatory compliance with a non-institutional character. While the facility satisfies all relevant medical planning standards and operational requirements, the fit-out adopts a domestic and human-scaled aesthetic to mitigate clinical sterility and enhance user comfort. This design strategy ensures the centre delivers both functional efficiency for healthcare providers and a supportive, accessible environment for patients
