Freycinet lodge
Neylan Architecture was commissioned to design the new central facilities for the beautiful Freycinet Lodge located with the Freycinet National Park on Tasmania’s east coast. The new central facilities included reception, restaurant, lounge and conference facilities. The design takes advantage of magnificent views from the rock outcrop overlooking Coles Bay.
The strong use on natural materials such as timber and stone were incorporated into the design to allow the building to nestle into the surrounding environment.
Neylan Architecture produced detailed design and construction drawings for this project and made regular site visits during construction. The construction budget for this project was $3.5M, as this project was a design and construction arrangement and we are not privy to the details of the final cost.
There were no particular strategies implemented for the regional location of this project as local trades were readily available. The construction time for this project was 9 months.
