An update on the rectification work on the W4 apartments in Teneriffe:

Engaged to mediate the existing leaking open courtyards of the upper apartments; we proposed new roofs be constructed to enclose the problematic terrace areas.

To maximise opportunity for outdoor living, the newly covered terraces have been fitted with full height glazed sliding doors that allow the space to be completely opened and to capture cooling cross breezes.  The existing balustrades have been retained to maintain an outdoor-like relationship and for safety.

Not wanting to diminish the modulating form of the apartments, the new roof structures project outwards from the facade and interweave between the existing buildings.  It has a achieved a practical and aesthetically pleasing addition for the owners who can now enjoy this terraced area all year round.
