RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT, UPPER ROMA STREET
Located adjacent to a major Transit Oriented Development Node, this multi-story complex, will house 84 units. These units have been designed to be adaptable to the individual dwellers needs, and the development has the potential to be a catalyst for urban renewal in the area.
Intelligent planning of the site took careful consideration to ensure the existing context and scale of the surrounding buildings was not hindered. As a result, a hybrid tapered building was formed, this ensured a more dense urban cityscape, while providing sufficient privacy and maintaining views towards the Brisbane River.
As part of the sustainable design strategy, natural cross ventilation is provided through a system of ventilation wells, allowing for breezes into the common areas. This strategy is also in use within each unit, removing the need for artificial cooling methods in the warmer months
