![]() The Office is busy this year working on two large industrial projects at Curtis Island off Gladstone. They involve the detailed design and construction of a number of buildings required to house workers controlling the gas production trains which are to be housed on the island for the purpose of converting coal seam gas into LNG for export. We are working on two separate facilities – one for Australia Pacific LNG (a consortium of Origin Energy, Sinopec and Conoco Phillips) and the other for Gladstone LNG (developed by Santos with Petronas as Partner.
Detailed information on each project is available at www.aplng.com.au www.glng.com.au Buildings currently in design include – MAIN CONTROL/ADMINISTRATION BUILDINGS, MAINTENANCE & LABORATORY BUILDINGS, FIRE STATIONS & MEDICAL BUILDINGS, WAREHOUSES, MARINE TERMINALS, DANGEROUS GOODS STORES, WASTE STORAGE AREAS. A number of the buildings are designed to be blast resistant and there is considerable logistical complication involved in transport of materials and labour from the mainland by barge to the island worksite.
